Dr. Mary Ann Tima, DVM
Originally from the Cleveland area, Dr. Tima obtained her Bachelors of Science degree at Ohio Northern University and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Ohio State University. After veterinary school she decided to move out to Colorado where she worked on multiple different species, including alpacas and goats. Although she enjoyed Colorado she realized she missed her home, Cleveland Ohio, so she moved back to Ohio. Dr. Tima attended the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in Florida and completed the small animal acupuncture class. She lives with her beagle mix, Rella and both enjoy kayaking, stand up paddling, and hiking.
Dr. Mary Swiger, DVM
Dr. Mary Swiger is a graduate from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. While pursing her bachelor degree at Baldwin Wallace, she fell in love with the city of Berea and has returned after graduating from OSU. Her love and passion for working with animals started growing while along side her mom as they cared for stray cats in her Cleveland neighborhood. This grew into volunteer work in facilities including the Lake Erie Science Center and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, not to mention MetroPet, that all furthered her inspiration to become a veterinarian. She is Fear Free certified, a member of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA), a member of the American Veterinary Association (AVMA), OSU alum, and Baldwin Wallace alum. She has many interests as a veterinarian including keeping pets healthy (prevention medicine), dermatology, internal medicine, dentistry, pocket pets, exotics, and more! In her free time she is gardening, spending time with her husband and family, and ensuring her long haired cat named Snowflake has her toy mice accounted for while she is getting the attention she rightfully demands. She joins our team in July 2021! Welcome Dr. Mary Swiger!
Dr. Sara Jerman, D.C. – Animal Chiropractor
Dr. Sara Jerman is a human chiropractor with additional certification in animal chiropractic and is certified by IVCA (International Veterinary Chiropractic Association). Before becoming a chiropractor, her first career was as a veterinary technician. As she was receiving her education as a veterinary technician, she had two experiences that started to change her mind-set and goals. First, she found that she had a fascination for bones and the nervous system and secondly, about two weeks into the veterinary technician program she ran into mid-back trouble. She saw a chiropractor nearby and he was able to help. About two years after graduating from the veterinary technician program, those prior experiences prompted her to go back to school to work on her Bachelor’s degree in order to then pursue her Doctorate in Chiropractic. Dr. Jerman is a graduate from Logan College of Chiropractic with additional certification from the Food Enzyme Institute. Because of her love for animals and the benefit she saw from her cat receiving chiropractic care, Dr. Jerman wanted to continue her chiropractic education. She received her animal chiropractic certification from Options for Animals and certification from IVCA.
Dr. Linda Wiley, DVM: Relief Veterinarian
After 25 years of dedicated and caring practice, Dr. Linda Wiley will be catching up on some well deserved relaxation and travel. However, because she loves being a veterinarian so much, she will continue to see appointments from time to time.
Dr. Linda has two pugs and a parrot who will be joining her in her travels.
Alison, Client Care Representative
Say hello to Alison. She sets the high standards of care in our great client care team! She is one of our most kind, tender hearted employees whose smile is heard through out the office, over the phone, and even in text. She grew up in North Olmsted where she now resides with her family. At first it was her, Tom, and the diva calico cat, Lacey. That was not enough! They added a chocolate lab puppy, Tiana. When the puppy reached ~6 months of age, her and Tom decided to add on to the family with a baby of the human species named Regina (she is already famous on our facebook page). Alison loves board games, spending time with family/friends, and Disney World (obviously with all the magic and love in her soul), we can honestly use the word obsessed here! Aside from her huge heart and contagious laugh, she loves people and pets which brought her to our team in January of 2018.
Jessica, Registered Veterinary Technician & Office Manager
Jessica was born and bred in Berea, Ohio, and lives there now with her family and her ruler, Ja Mocha the cat. She joined MetroPet in 2015, and had been in the Veterinary field since 1996, earning her Associates from Tri-C and becoming an RVT. She has a passion for communication and teaching, and loves training new tech staff. She has a special interest in heart function, and is always pushing herself to learn more and improve at her job. Jess loves being outside, reading, riding her bike, and being with her family. She enjoys ridiculous horror movies, and applying zombie make up. When she’s not at work, you can find Jess at a coffee shop, library, or enjoying the outside (maybe adding to her insect collection).
Katie, Vet Assistant
Katie grew up in Strongsville with her parents and 2 brothers. She currently lives there with her 3 cats (Rosco, Colbie, and Oaklee) and 2 guinea pigs (Luna and Butterscotch), and dog (Gidget). Katie has always had a love for animals and is working on her vet tech degree! Katie joined our team as a Veterinary Assistant in 2016.
When she isn’t at work, Katie enjoys watching Netflix, cuddling her cats, and she recently started painting. Katie loves seeing all the adorable pets that come in!
Jordan, Vet Assistant/Customer Service
Jordan is a veterinary assistant and customer service representative who lives with her family in Brook Park. She lives with her cat Toki and American bulldog Thor. She joined our MetroPet team in 2015, and is preparing for her career as a veterinary technician, currently attending Tri-C’s veterinary technician program to earn her license as an RVT. Jordan enjoys heavy metal music, walking Thor and cross training in her spare time, Star Wars and video games. She also likes watching movies and spending time with her boyfriend, friends and family. When she’s not at work, Jordan can usually be found out and about looking for Pokémon or shopping.
Nicole, Client Care representative
Meet Nicole! She is our social butterfly that brings the standard of customer care to the next level without even trying. She could even chat with you in American Sign Language. She and her 3 sisters were raised by their mom who served for the country and her fun joking father. Today she is currently settled in Parma with her husband, but it is not just the 2 of them. If it wasn’t for him, she would have a little zoo in her home. For now, she only has 2 young thriving dogs, 1 handsome cat (as she calls her guardian and protector), 2 leopard geckos, and the diva queen of the palace- a 2 legged bearded dragon named Lieutenant Danielle that makes household commands and hand feeding requests daily. You can call Nicole a craft connoisseur (she does it all) if she is not busy being an advocate for ending breed specific language laws. Needless to say she has a passion for animals and was stalked down as a client to work for MetroPet in 2018. She is most proud of getting back into school to do what she loves and to gain an RVT license.
Tracy, RVT & Hospital Manager
Tracy is a native of Northeast Ohio, and lives in Brook Park with her husband, daughter, and stepdaughters. They have two dogs (Sadie and Pixie), and three cats (Madison, Millie and Maude).
Tracy has been in the Veterinary field since 1996, and has worked at MetroPet since 1996! She got her associates degree from Tri-C and became an RVT in 1999, and through the years has grown into the role of Hospital Manager (she manages the medical side of MetroPet, and we’re so fortunate to have her!). She is the most proud of having worked in only one vet clinic for her entire career. She has a special interest in dentistry.
She spends her free time with her family, enjoys being outside, camping, and going for hikes or bird walks. She is also an active church member, and donates her time for local shelters or pet events. She is eager to give back to the community, particularly by helping pets and pet owners.
